Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is vital in many fields because of its high sensitivity, fast response, and fingerprint effect. The surface-enhanced mechanisms are generally electromagnetic enhancement (EM), which mainly based on noble metals (Au, Ag, etc.), chemical (CM). With more studies CM mechanism recent years, non-noble metal nanomaterial SERS substrates gradually became widely researched applied due to their superior economy, stability, selectivity, biocompatibility compared metal. In addition, also provide an ideal new platform for technology probe the biomolecules. this paper, we review applications nanomaterials detection biomedical engineering years. Firstly, introduce development some common discuss properties mechanisms. Subsequently, focus progress application nanomaterials, such as analysis biomarkers contaminants. Finally, look forward future research process substrate biomedicine, may draw attention biosensor nanomaterial-based substrates.
