Metal nanoclusters (NCs) are promising alternatives to organic dyes and quantum dots. These NCs exhibit unique physical chemical properties, such as fluorescence, chirality, magnetism catalysis, which contribute significant advancements in biosensing, biomedical diagnostics therapy. Through adjustments composition, size, environments surface ligands, it is possible create with tunable optoelectronic catalytic activity. This review focuses on the integration of aptamers metal NCs, detailing molecular detection strategies that utilise effect optical signal emission NC-based biosensing systems. also highlights recent applications, well illustrative case studies. To conclude, strengths, limitations, current challenges prospects for systems were examined.

Constructing self-assembly with definite assembly structure-property correlation is of great significance for expanding the property richness and functional diversity metal nanoclusters (NCs). Herein, a well-designed liquid reaction strategy was developed through which highly ordered nanofiber superstructure enhanced green photoluminescence (PL) obtained via individual silver (Ag NCs). By visual monitoring kinetic process using time-dependent in situ spectroscopy measurements, assembling structure growth structure-determined luminescence mechanisms were revealed. The as-prepared nanofibers featured series advantages involving high emission efficiency, large Stokes shift, homogeneous chromophore, excellent photostability, temperature, pH sensibility. virtue these merits, they successfully employed various fields luminescent inks, encryption anticounterfeiting platforms, optoelectronic light-emitting diode (LED) devices.

Understanding self-assembly of atomically precise nanoclusters is paramount interest in designing various aggregated super-structures. Here pH-mediated reported Ag44(MNBA)30 (MNBA = 5-mercapto-2-nitrobenzoic acid) aqueous solution. These formed hexagonal close-packed (hcp) structures when the pH solution reduced from basic to neutral. High-resolution transmission microscopy result confirms bilayer and multilayer assembly at neutral pH. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) analysis, molecular dynamics simulation delineate ligand-mediated inter-cluster interactions such as ligand metal core coordination, H─bonding π-π playing a crucial role formation self-assembled structure.

Emerging as a promising functional material, metal nanoclusters that emit near-infrared (NIR) radiation have garnered significant attention due to their distinctive properties. Nonetheless, the rational design of NIR-emissive still faces substantial challenges. Herein, we demonstrate self-assembly strategy for constructing nanocomposites (abbreviated Ag9-NCs/PEI) using water-soluble Ag9-NCs (Ag9(mba)9, where H2mba = 2-mercaptobenzoic acid) and branched polyethylenimine (PEI) (Mw 750,000). The Ag9-NCs/PEI exhibits excellent phosphorescent properties, demonstrating broad NIR phosphorescence band spanning from 750 1200 nm (NIR: >750 nm) three-component microsecond lifetimes (τ1 2.22 μs; τ2 33.31 τ3 230.76 μs) at room temperature. This behavior is attributed incorporation three triplet emitting states, verified by temperature-dependent steady/transient emission spectra time-resolved transient (TRES). More importantly, nanocomposite also demonstrates exceptional photothermal conversion with temperature elevating promptly 22 310 °C within just 10 s upon 660 laser irradiation (0.8 W/cm2). notable phosphorescence, especially in region, rarely observed silver cluster nanocomposites.

The controlled assembly of silver nanoclusters (NCs) into tunable coordination polymers (CPs) presents opportunities for functional material design, although stability-related challenges persist. Herein, we report the synthesis three CPs (1-3) by adjusting reaction conditions, such as method and solvent, facilitating self-assembly NCs with 4,8-ethenobenzo[1,2-c:4,5-c'] dipyrrole-1,3,5,7(2H,6H)-tetrone (BDI) ligand. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal distinct architectures: a one-dimensional cyclic loop chain (1), two-dimensional layered structure (2), 2-fold interpenetrated (3). We systematically explore hydrogen bonding interactions, structural stability, optical properties these materials, demonstrating that spatial arrangement BDI ligands dictates both dimensionality photophysical behavior. This study provides new insights design silver-based enhanced paves way advanced applications in optoelectronics molecular sensing.

Silver nanocluster assemblies are an emerging class of fluorescent and stable solid materials by virtue their structural tunability stability compared to isolated clusters. The photophysical properties the cluster nodes influenced intra- or intercluster interaction. In this work, we show two-dimensional (2D) [Ag5(C2tBu)2(CF3COO)3(C4H4N2)](CHCl3) three-dimensional (3D) [Ag4(C2tBu)(CF3COO)3(C4H4N2)] silver obtained tuning molar ratios same protecting ligands linker. 2D assembly possesses a one-dimensional (1D) chain held together through Ag···Ag interactions, whereas in 3D assembly, Ag4 units linked trifluoroacetate form 1D with Ag4-O-Ag4 Ag4-O-C-O-Ag4 connectivity. This varying effect argentophilic interaction influences photoluminescence properties. emission was found be dominated cluster-centered state owning enhanced 3D, is from theoretical investigations also revealed that lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals (LUMOs) localized on pyrazine contrast, LUMOs mostly metal atoms within cluster. work highlights not only importance synthesis but emphasizes understanding structure-luminescence relationship.
