The oxidative coupling of amines is a useful way to prepare many diverse compounds for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. Covalent organic frameworks (COFs), crystalline class porous polymers, have emerged as promising heterogeneous photocatalysts that can accomplish this transformation under metal-free conditions due their excellent photochemical stability tunable electronic properties. Herein, we report optoelectronic photocatalytic properties an olefin-linked COF containing thienothiophene (TT) 2,4,6-trimethyl-1,3,5-triazine (TMT) units. TT-TMT-COF exhibited narrow band gap with extended light absorption charge separation, making it various benzylamines. fast reaction times, recyclability, conversions high ∼99%. reactivity was on par or significantly better than few small molecule 2,4,6-tris((E)-2-(thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl)vinyl)-1,3,5-triazine (TT-TMT) 2,4,6-tris((E)-2-(thiophen-2-yl)vinyl)-1,3,5-triazine (Thio-TMT) homogeneous catalytic systems similar functional This work further highlights ability perform efficient transformations in sustainable manner.

Metal-catalyzed carbon-carbon (C-C) coupling reactions are important in the chemical industry. These conventionally carried out through fossil-fuel-derived heat-driven high-temperature catalytic processes. In this contribution, we report that Pd nanoclusters decorated on surface of quasi-spherical Cu2O (i.e., Cu2O-Pd) nanoparticles can successfully photocatalyze C-C reaction under ambient temperature and pressure conditions. Oxidative homocoupling phenylacetylene into diphenyl diacetylene is used as probe reaction. Based our results from transient reflection, density functional theory calculations, photoreactor studies, propose photocatalytic mechanism involves photon-excited electron transfer subsequent activation molecules by these excited electrons nanoclusters. The visible-light-driven approach demonstrated herein decarbonize processes industry since visible light input be supplied renewable energy resources.
