Research on the degradation mechanism of coating materials is crucial for preservation cultural heritage. The purpose this study was to evaluate protective effect Coromandel coatings wooden substrates by analyzing their dimensions, weight, adhesion strength, hydrophobicity, and glossiness. results indicate that after five cycles, radial moisture expansion rate wood specimen 0.332%, while lacquer 0.079%, representing 23.8% untreated specimens. Using oak-based technical veneer as the raw material, translucent veneers with natural wood textures, including mountain grain (TKU-T) and straight (TKU-L), were successfully prepared through a multi-step process. The first treated potassium chloride-based deep eutectic solvents (DES), followed by impregnation UV-curable coating. Excess coating on surfaces was subsequently removed, samples cured under UV irradiation. A systematic evaluation of performance conducted. Microscopic analysis revealed that filled fiber cell lumens veneer. light transmittance TKU-L TKU-T reached 68.4% 58.5%, while their maximum tensile strength in direction achieved 47.97 MPa 48.25 MPa, respectively. Compared to untreated veneers, optical mechanical properties significantly improved. combined several advantages, high transmittance, low density, cost, strength, less pollution. Additionally, they retain rich colors textures wood, eliminating defects which provides large surface coverage, enhancing decorative potential.
