This study presents the development and characterization of a novel porphyrin-Jeffamine polymer conjugate designed to function as photosensitizer prodrug for antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (aPDT). The features photosensitive porphyrin unit covalently attached biocompatible backbone, with enhanced solubility, stability, bioavailability compared those free derivatives. photophysical properties were studied using transient absorption spectroscopy spanning fs-μs time scales in addition emission studies. production reactive oxygen species upon photoactivation enabled effective bacterial cell killing. Spectroscopic studies confirmed strong binding DNA through intercalation, likely disrupting replication transcription. Interaction bovine serum albumin demonstrated substantial protein binding, which may positively impact pharmacokinetics biodistribution. Overall, this porphyrin-polymer offers multifunctional theranostic platform, combining action potential, positioning it promising candidate aPDT bioimaging applications.

Porphyrins and their derivatives are excellent materials with specific physical photochemical properties in medical, chemical, technological applications. In chemistry, applied to create new functional characteristics, such as porphyrin-based sorbents combined porous organic polymers, silica, carbon nanostructures, or metal–organic frameworks. This review covers the applications of porphyrins metalloporphyrins preparing using for metal ion enrichment separation. Uncommon that utilize porphyrins, light-enhanced processes redox selective sorption photocatalytic conversion ions, also discussed. These suggest fields use, removal recycling metals from electronic waste elimination heavy environment.

In the current work, chloro(meso-tetrakis(phenyl)porphyrin) manganese(III) [Mn(TPP)Cl] was synthesized following two steps: preparation of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin (H⁠2TPP) and insertion manganese into free porphyrin H2TPP. The compounds were characterized using SEM, FT-IR, UV, TGA/DTA, XRD analyses. Manganese(III) meso-porphyrins exhibited hyper-type electronic spectra with a half-vacant metal orbital symmetry, such as [dπ:dxz dyz]. thermal behavior [Mn(TPP)(Cl)] changed (three-step degradation process) compared to initial H2TPP (one-step process), confirming core Furthermore, used degrade calmagite (an azo dye) H2O2 an oxidant. effects dye concentration, reaction time, dose, temperature investigated. solution completely degraded in presence [Mn(TPP)(Cl)]/H2O2 at pH = 6, 20 °C, C0 30 mg/L, 40 mL/L. computed low activation energy (Ea 10.55 Kj/mol) demonstrated efficiency proposed catalytic system for degradation. Overall, based on synthesis process excellent results, prepared could be effective catalyst treatment calmagite-contaminated effluents.
