Resistive type gas sensors based on wide-bandgap semiconductor oxides are remaining one of the principal players in environmental air monitoring. The rapid development technology and desire to miniaturize electronics require creation devices with minimal energy consumption. A promising solution may be use photoactivation, which can initiate/accelerate physico-chemical processes at solid-gas interface realize detection flammable explosive gases close room temperature. This work examines mechanism underlying increased sensitivity various under photoactivation. review is intended clarify current situation field light-activated set vector for their further order integrate latest technological projects.
