Porous carbon with a high surface area and controllable pore size is needed for energy storage. It still significant challenge to produce porous in an economical way. Nitrogen-doped (N-PC) was prepared through carbonization of mixture waste PET-derived metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ammonium. The obtained N-PC exhibits large controlled size. When utilized as electrode material supercapacitors, the specific capacitance 224 F g−1, significantly surpassing that commercial activated (AC), which has 111 g−1. In subsequent capacitive deionization (CDI) tests, demonstrated maximum salt adsorption capacity 19.9 mg g−1 at 1.2 V NaCl electrolyte (0.5 g L−1), increased 24.7 1.4 V. also exhibited superior regeneration. present work not only presents potential approach develop cost-effective electrodes seawater purification but paves way recycling plastics into value-added products.
