The authors explore opportunities, challenges, and strategies to translate responsibly scale innovative biobased technologies build more sustainable bioeconomies. pandemic other recent disruptions increased exposure issues of resilience regional imbalance, highlighting a need for production consumption regimes centred on local resources dispersed production. review potential technology identify promising feasible options the United Kingdom. Initial landscape bibliometric analysis identified 50 existing emerging technologies, which were assessed their ability fulfil requirements related production, national applicability, economic-, societal-, environmental-benefits, leading identification 18 technologies. Further focus-group discussion with industrial, governmental, academic, agricultural, social stakeholders, three clusters targeted assessment, drawing cellulose-, lignin-, seaweed feedstocks. Case studies developed each cluster, addressing conversations around management, use biomass feedstocks, associated environmental-, social-, economic challenges. Cases are presented insights implications policy. approach is put forward as scalable assessment method that can be useful in prompting, informing, advancing deliberation opportunities challenges transformations.

The development of the bioeconomy in European Union is promoted through various policies. In Greece, however, there a paucity research on issues and policies at both national regional levels. This study systematically examines feasibility developing blueprint within context geographically isolated mountainous region. By employing an integrated strategic framework combining sustainable resource management, innovation participatory governance, proposed emphasizes transition from conventional, unsustainable economic practices to contemporary paradigm underpinned by tenets circular economy utilization local resources. A central tenet enhancement collaborative endeavors among stakeholders, academic institutions, business entities, with overarching objective being promotion cutting-edge technologies diversification Concurrently, emphasis placed necessity establish conducive policies, regulatory frameworks, financial mechanisms that will facilitate industries mitigate environmental impact. text importance human resources educational training programs, ensuring adaptability demands emerging bioeconomy. concludes that, despite inherent difficulties arising geographical isolation limited access resources, region has potential for development. region’s capacity contingent upon implementation suitable strategies mobilization investment, which be instrumental establishment robust environmentally model.

ABSTRACT This research investigates the interplay between community engagement, psychological factors, and coral reef conservation in context of Bali's marine tourism bioeconomy. By examining drivers such as belief climate change, trust government initiatives, personal experiences with pollution, we show how these social factors shape responses participation conservation. Through use Importance‐Performance Analysis logistic regression models, identify critical that either promote or impede involvement protection efforts. Key indicators assessed included: implementation nurseries, protected areas, public education campaigns, responsible workshops, volunteer programs for cleaning, incentivized actions, local committees, stakeholder engagement sessions. The findings indicated effective management strategies must address not only ecological challenges but also socio‐economic realities. Integrating insights perspectives into efforts is shown to significantly bolster their effectiveness sustainability. study highlights need adaptive approaches are informed by both data feedback, aiming cultivate resilient ecosystems communities face global change.
