Lead halide perovskites have recently been reported to demonstrate an exceptionally high nonlinear (Kerr) refractive index ${\mathrm{n}}_{2}$ of up ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}8}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}/\mathrm{W}$ in ${\mathrm{CH}}_{3}{\mathrm{NH}}_{3}{\mathrm{PbBr}}_{3}$. Other researchers, however, observe different, substantially more conservative numbers. In order resolve this disagreement, the Kerr a bulk sample lead perovskite was measured directly by means interferometer. This approach has many advantages as compared standard z-scan technique. particular, method allows studying induced changes time-resolved manner, thus enabling separate different contributions ${n}_{2}$. The extracted ${\mathit{n}}_{2}$ values for ${\mathrm{CsPbBr}}_{3}$ and ${\mathrm{MAPbBr}}_{3}$ at $\ensuremath{\lambda}\ensuremath{\approx}1\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\textmu{}\mathrm{m}$ are ${n}_{2}=+2.1\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}14}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}/\mathrm{W}$ ${n}_{2}=+6\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}15}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}{\mathrm{cm}}^{2}/\mathrm{W}$, respectively. Hence, these lower than what indicated most previous reports, implying latter one should be regarded with great care.
