The formation of core-shell heterostructures allows direct contact two components for more efficient energy transfer while requires exquisite lattice match. Lattice mismatch is one the most challenging obstacles combining with different phases. In this work, we develop a strategy to overcome limitation and grow α-phase lead halide perovskites (LHPs) onto β-phase lanthanide-doped nanoparticles (LnNPs) by seeding sub-8 nm LnNPs. This LnNP@LHP heterostructure effectively passivates surface defects LnNPs obtain enhanced upconversion performance enables two-way within heterostructures. We identify prove that core size along high reaction temperature, instead phase, critical mismatch. Our uncovers insights into key factor growth believe current synthesis high-quality will have strong application potential in optoelectronics, anticounterfeiting light detection.
