Multivalent DNA-bridging protein-mediated collapse of chromatin polymers have long been established as one the driving factors in organization inside cells. These multivalent proteins can bind to distant binding sites along backbone and bring them together spatial proximity, leading collapsed conformations. Recently, it has suggested that these not only drive polymer but also reswelling at higher concentrations. In this study, we investigate physical mechanisms underlying unexpected behavior. We use Langevin dynamics simulation a coarse-grained homopolymer effects valencies both binders monomers on find while extent is strongly dependent binder valency, largely determined by monomer valency. Furthermore, discovered two different polymer—excluded volume loss long-range loops. Finally, obtain classification map determine regimes which each dominant factor reswelling.
