As one of the most important aquaculture species in world, improvement growth traits Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), has always been a primary focus. In this study, we conducted SNP-specific locus analysis and identified growth-related gene, BAMBI, L. vannamei. We analyzed structure function LvBAMBI using genomic, transcriptomic, metabolomic, RNA interference (RNAi) assays. The possessed highly conserved structural domains widely expressed various tissues. Knockdown significantly inhibited gain body length weight shrimp, underscoring its role as growth-promoting factor. Specifically, knockdown resulted significant downregulation genes involved lipid metabolism, protein synthesis, catabolism transport, immunity. Conversely, related to glucose metabolism exhibited upregulations. Analysis differential metabolites (DMs) metabolomics further revealed that may primarily affect by regulating biological processes metabolism. These results suggested plays crucial transport shrimp. This study provides valuable insights for future research utilization BAMBI crustaceans.

The plant mirid bug Apolygus lucorum is an omnivorous pest that can cause considerable economic damage. steroid hormone 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) mainly responsible for molting and metamorphosis. adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) intracellular energy sensor regulated by 20E, its activity allosterically through phosphorylation. It unknown whether the 20E-regulated insect's gene expression depends on AMPK Herein, we cloned full-length cDNA of AlAMPK in A. lucorum. mRNA was detected at all developmental stages, whereas dominant midgut and, to a lesser extent, epidermis fat body. Treatment with 20E activator 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide-1-β-d-ribofuranoside (AlCAR) or only AlCAR resulted activation phosphorylation levels body, probed antibody directed against phosphorylated Thr172, enhancing expression, no occurred compound C. Compared C, and/or increased rate, fifth instar nymphal weight shortened development time vitro inducing EcR-A, EcR-B, USP, E75-A. Similarly, knockdown RNAi reduced rate nymphs, fifth-instar nymphs blocked 20E-related genes. Moreover, as observed TEM, thickness significantly treatments, spaces began form between cuticle epidermal cells, progress improved. These composite data indicated AlAMPK, pathway, plays important role hormonal signaling short, regulating insect metamorphosis switching status.

Bruceine D (BD) is an effective insecticidal compound found in the Chinese herb Brucea javanica (L.) Merr. BD inhibits growth and metamorphosis of Plutella xylostella Drosophila melanogaster; however, its target protein molecular mechanism activity remain unclear. In this study, proteins with high affinity for were screened using surface plasmon resonance high-performance liquid chromatography coupled matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry, revealing ecdysone receptor (EcR) main BD. vivo results showed that inhibited insect through inhibition expression 20E response genes. vitro dual luciferase enhanced green fluorescent (EGFP) fluorescence experiments indicated suppressed transcriptional activation EcR by blocking element (EcRE)-triggered cascade, suggesting formation 20E–EcR–USP–EcRE complex. Moreover, docking demonstrated bound well to EcR. Elucidating will be helpful development pesticides control pests.

Wing dimorphism of insect vectors is a determining factor for viral long-distance dispersal and large-area epidemics. Although plant viruses affect the wing plasticity vectors, potential underlying molecular mechanisms have seldom been investigated. Here, we found that planthopper-vectored rice virus, stripe virus (RSV), specifically induces long-winged morph in male insects. The analysis field populations demonstrated ratios insects are closely associated with RSV infection regardless titers. A planthopper-specific testis-highly expressed gene,
