In the context of global move into digital economy (DEC) era and accelerated development green industry, constructing a unified large market provides powerful accelerating effect for transformation upgrading manufacturing industry (GTUM) empowered by DEC. This study employs panel data combining China's provincial level with subsectors from 2011 to 2020. It examines impact DEC construction on GTUM its action mechanism at theoretical empirical levels traditional econometric models geographic information systems, machine learning models, other advanced technologies. Results indicate that significantly enhances GTUM. Relative efficiency aspects GTUM, is more pronounced energy consumption environmental protection. Mechanism tests reveal primarily facilitates reducing segmentation effects, stimulating potential matching supply demand effects. Heterogeneity analysis finds in regions higher trade openness, technological innovation, public awareness, effectively promotes Analyzing temporal dynamics this influence, aligns Metcalfe's Law, which posits non-linear characteristic.
