Purpose Nanotechnology (NT) advancements in personal protective textiles (PPT) or equipment (PPE) have alleviated spread and transmission of this highly contagious viral disease, enabled enhancement PPE, thereby fortifying antiviral behavior. Design/methodology/approach Review a series state the art research papers on subject matter. Findings This paper expounds novel nanotechnological polymeric textile composites, emerging applications fight against COVID-19 pandemic. 3-Dimension printing (3-DPT) or additive manufacturing (AM) technology has been utilized for a while in the construction of customized 3-D objects utilizing computer software such as computer-aided design (CAD). However, emergence an innovative and new four-dimensional (4-DPT) enabled synergy AM with programmable materials transforming digital processes virtually into physical entities, thereby providing innovation advanced functionalities. 4-DPT is procedure facilitating 3-DPT components to undergo programming order enable transformation their shape time on exposure external stimuli stimuli, including light-responsivity, chemical responsivity, magnetic/electrical pH response, thermo-sensitive well biological stimulation biomolecular responsivity.
