Purpose Conflicts between herders and farmers in Nigeria the last five years have been destructive to corporate existence of Nigerian society State, especially Northcentral, Northwestern Southern Nigeria. Nature conservation and sustainable development goals are challenged by powerful economic incentives to exploit natural resources, particularly in many tropical countries. Community-based resource management (CBNRM) projects have been encouraged worldwide for over 40 years improve the sustainability of nature-based livelihoods facilitate governance accordance with cultural spiritual traditions. CBNRM has implemented Ghana, West Africa, 20 form Community Resource Management Areas (CREMAs), but their success supporting remains subject debate. We evaluated participant views 33 conservation, economic, sociocultural outcomes through 881 interviews people from 89 communities associated eight CREMAs. Participants reported highest expectations performance including awareness, increased food honey production, collective community action unity. However, perceived failed meet all outcomes. Expectation-performance gaps were largest such as reduced illegal logging, income, financial assistance, employment, constancy children's school attendance. Successfully addressing these will depend largely on external factors, government effectiveness controlling logging investments credit education. While this other approaches cannot stand alone achieve goals, sufficient support they can provide substantial benefits participants play a role buffers successful protected areas.

This paper examines management of herder-peasant farmer conflicts and internal security challenges in Benue state, Nigeria. It relied mainly on descriptive cross-sectional survey designs. Four hundred seven participants were collated analyzed from 430 questionnaires distributed 10 Local Government Areas with an age range 20–79 years mean 42.84 years. A structured questionnaire was adopted for measuring farmer-herder analyzing the strategies deployed tackling conflict.
