The plastisphere is a potential contributor to global antimicrobial resistance (AMR), posing threats public and environmental health. However, comprehensively quantifying the contribution of microplastics with different biodegradability AMR lacking. In this study, we systematically quantified risk mediated by biodegradable nonbiodegradable using abundance-based methods custom ranking framework that includes genes (ARGs) abundance, mobility, host pathogenicity. Our results demonstrated exhibited higher compared plastics. Key genes, including those for multidrug, bacitracin, aminoglycoside resistance, were predominant. Machine learning analysis identified cell motility as most significant signature associated risk, highlighting its role in promoting ARGs dissemination. addition, promoted oxidative stress SOS responses, which likely enhanced horizontal gene transfer (HGT) AMR. Metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) uncovered colocalization microplastic degradation ARGs, virulence factors (VFs), further supporting elevated plastisphere. proximity mobile genetic elements (MGEs) suggests processes might favor mobility. These findings would contribute critical insights into dissemination plastisphere, emphasizing need integrated health strategies under context One Health.
