Purpose The carbon complementary supply chain (CCSC) is a collaborative framework that facilitates internal credit trading agreements among agents in compliance with prevailing regulations. Such are highly beneficial, prompting to consider joint investment emission reduction initiatives. However, capital investments come inevitable opportunity costs, compelling weigh the potential revenue from against these costs. Thus, this paper mainly explores abatement strategies and operational decisions of CCSC members influence costs on strategic choice cooperative noncooperative investment. Design/methodology/approach authors propose novel biform game-based theoretical captures interplay pricing competition cooperation assesses impact profits social welfare. Besides, also compare scenario (Model B) N) investigate conditions under which most effective. Findings strategy enhances economic performance traditional energy manufacturer, who bears risk as well retailer. Additionally, it incentivizes renewable manufacturer improve environmental through projects. Originality/value This research contributes significantly by establishing integrates concepts game theory, offering new insights into management emissions within chains.

Taking into account the impact of time factors on emission reductions and brand reputation, reference carbon effect dual-channel supply chain are incorporated a unified analysis framework. We applied differential game theory to build models under centralized decision-making decentralized decision-making. The aim research is explore strategies single manufacturer retailer product pricing, low-carbon production, advertising. analyses effects, cost coefficients, interchannel substitutable coefficients profits. In order alleviate double marginal brought about by decision-making, cost-compensation coordination mechanism proposed. conclusions as follows. First, optimal mode, but further consultation required implement it voluntarily both parties. Second, cost-recovery contract occurs when fixed fee that gives meets certain conditions. can make retailer’s advertising investment reach level improve member’s profit effective. Third, bring an increase in manufacturer’s production input not affected effect. Fourth, wholesale prices online or offline retail all positively correlated with market share channel. price-substitution coefficient between channels inputs
