Abstract Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as essential regulators of gene expression, significantly influencing various biological processes. Approximately half all lncRNAs are classified long intergenic (lincRNAs), which situated among coding genes. Recent studies documented the role lincRNAs in pathogenesis lung diseases, including cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and arterial hypertension. These can modulate expression through mechanisms, epigenetic modifications, transcriptional regulation, post-transcriptional regulation. By functioning competing endogenous (ceRNAs), affect activity microRNAs (miRNAs) their corresponding target This review delves into intricate mechanisms by contribute to development progression diseases. Furthermore, it discusses potential therapeutic targets.

To explore the potential of serum exosomal miRNAs as novel biomarkers for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Serum were screened and verified by microarray analysis quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) in patients with PDAC healthy controls. The correlation between clinical characteristics candidate was analyzed, diagnostic performance evaluated. miR-7977 miR-451a significantly upregulated compared controls, levels exosomes closely associated stage metastasis patients. area under curve (AUC) values 0.825 0.804 training set 0.796 0.830 validation set, respectively. A biomarker panel consisting these two resulted a power an AUC 0.901 0.918 set. might be PDAC. These miRNAs, when combined, exhibit optimal performance.

Metformin, widely used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, has recently gained attention its potential anticancer properties. Several studies have shown that metformin inhibits cell viability in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD); however, research related to tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) stage is limited. As COAD frequently diagnosed at an advanced stage, understanding genetic factors regulate pathogenesis each TNM and effects treatment. Therefore, we identified differentially expressed metformin-treated cells investigated their regulatory mechanisms using microRNAs (miRNAs). Through bioinformatics analyses, four-jointed box kinase 1 (FJX1) hsa-miR-1306-3p were as upon Metformin significantly reduced viability, with observed decrease approximately 50%. Analysis quantitative real-time PCR showed increase a FJX1 expression compared untreated cells. Luciferase assay confirmed sequence-specific binding FJX1. These findings highlight therapeutic agent by modulating via upregulation hsa-miR-1306-3p, revealing novel avenues
