Studies

Disasters
can
disrupt
normal
healthcare
processes,
with
serious
effects
on
children
who
depend
upon
regular
access
to
the
health
care
system.
Children
medical
complexity
(CMC)
are
especially
at
risk.
These
have
chronic
conditions,
and
may
technology,
like
feeding
tubes.
Without
clear,
evidence-based
processes
connect
teams,
families
struggle
services
supports
they
need
during
disasters.
There
is
limited
research
about
this
topic,
which
has
been
pushed
forward
in
importance
as
a
result
of
COVID-19
pandemic.
The
authors
therefore
conducted
rapid
scoping
review
intention
inform
policy
processes.
Both
peer-reviewed
gray
literatures
disaster,
CMC,
communication
were
searched
summer
2020
spring
2021.
Twenty
six
relevant
articles
identified,
from
four
main
themes
extracted:
1.
Cooperative
collaborative
planning.
2.
Proactive
outreach,
engagement,
response.
3.
Use
existing
social
networks
families.
4.
Return
usual
routines.
Based
review,
good
practices
appear
involve
including
families,
professionals,
other
stakeholders,
themselves
pre-disaster
planning;
service
providers
using
proactive
outreach
outset
crisis
event;
working
peer
neighborhood
for
support;
employing
multiple
two-way
channels,
media,
families;
re-establishing
soon
possible,
include
virtual
connections;
addressing
mental
issues
well
physical
functioning;
prioritizing
resumption
daily
Above
all,
well-established
ongoing
relationship
among
children,
their
caregivers,
teams
could
reduce
disruptions
when
disaster

Turkey,

disasters

Introduction
The
health
of
patients
with
mental
disorders,
such
as
alcohol-related
diseases,
often
deteriorates
after
disasters.
However,
the
causes
death
among
those
diseases
during

disasters
remain
unclear.
Methods
To
minimize
prevent
deaths
in
future
disasters,
we
analyzed

six
cases

City,

plant.

to

Abstract
The
medical
situation
during
disasters
often
differs
from
that
at
usual
times.
Disasters
can
lead
to
significant
mortality
be
difficult
