Abstract Sugar fatty acid esters, especially glucose esters (GEs), have broad applications in food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. In this research the moieties derived from polyunsaturated containing single cell oils (SCOs), i.e. those produced Cunninghamella echinulata , Umbelopsis isabellina Nannochloropsis gaditana as well olive oil an eicosapentaenoic (EPA) concentrate were converted into GEs by enzymatic synthesis, using lipases biocatalysts. The GE synthesis was monitored thin-layer chromatography, FT-IR situ NMR. It found that carried out immobilized Candida antarctica B lipase very effective reaching high yields, near to 100%. shown EPA-GEs against several pathogenic bacteria their activity can be attributed EPA content. Furthermore, C. echinulata-GEs more pathogens comparing U. isabellina-GEs probably due presence of gamma linolenic (GLA) lipids echinulate which is known for its antimicrobial activity, higher concentrations. also showed a strong insecticidal Aedes aegypti larvae, followed EPA-GEs, oil-GEs, N. gaditana-GEs . All synthesized induced apoptosis SKOV-3 ovarian cancer line, with apoptotic rate increasing significantly after 48 h. A percentage observed cells treated echinulata-GEs, oil-GEs. We conclude SCOs used interesting biological properties.

The preparation of highly porous magnetic crosslinked aggregates (pm-CLEA) porcine pancreas lipase (PPL) is reported. Some strategies to improve the volumetric activity immobilized biocatalyst were evaluated, such as treatment PPL with enzyme surface-modifying agents (polyethyleneimine or dodecyl aldehyde), co-aggregation protein co-feeders (bovine serum albumin and/or soy protein), use silica nanoparticles functionalized amino groups (SMNPs) separation aid, and starch pore-making agent. combination surface modification aldehyde, SMNPs protein, in presence 0.8% (followed by hydrolysis α-amylase), yielded CLEAs expressing high (immobilization yield around 100% recovered 80%), effectiveness factor (approximately 65% equivalent free activity) stability at 40 °C pH 8.0, i.e., co-aggregated SMNPs/bovine SMNPs/soy retained 80% 50% after 10 h incubation, respectively, while was fully inactivated 2 h. Besides, (pm-SP-CLEAs) showed good performance reusability tributyrin for five 4h-batches.

Short-chain alkyl esters and sugar are widely used in the food, pharmaceutical cosmetic industries due to their flavor emulsifying characteristics, respectively. Both compounds can be synthesized via biocatalysis using lipases. This work aims compare performance of commercial lipases covalently attached dry acrylic beads functionalized with oxirane groups (lipases from Candida antarctica type B-IMMCALB-T2-350, Pseudomonas fluorescens-IMMAPF-T2-150, Thermomyces lanuginosus-IMMTLL-T2-150) a home-made biocatalyst (lipase fluorescens adsorbed onto silica coated octyl groups, named PFL-octyl-silica) syntheses short- long-chain carboxylic acid esters. Esters properties were synthetized by esterification acetic butyl acids several alcohols (e.g., ethanol, 1-butanol, 1-hexanol, isoamyl alcohol), oleic lauric fructose lactose. All biocatalysts showed similar short-chain esters, conversions ranging 88.9 98.4%. However, PFL-octyl-silica was almost always lower than IMMCALB-T2-350, whose conversion up 96% synthesis oleate. high operational stability organic media, thus having great potential for biotransformations.

The enzymatic synthesis of xylose fatty acid esters was carried out in two steps: hydrolysis degummed soybean oil (DSO) and esterification the produced purified free acids (FFA) with xylose. Different lipases immobilized on a hydrophobic support were evaluated DSO an experimental design used to optimize reaction. Eversa® Transform 2.0 (EV-Purolite) yielded 93% conversion after 6 h using biocatalyst load 6.53 wt.%, water/oil mass ratio 5.5 temperature 48.4 °C. High operational stability for EV-Purolite found sequential batch strategy possibility concentrating glycerol. In stage, lipase from Thermomyces lanuginosus (TLL-Purolite) B Candida antarctica showed better performance than porcine pancreas EV-Purolite. About 17% FFAs (0.85 molecules FAA per molecule) consumed enzyme 5 wt.% TLL-Purolite FFA/xylose molar 5. Sequential batches low TTL-Purolite due desorption TLL support. final mixture reaction medium containing emulsifying properties similar those commercial surfactant.

Rigorous evidence reviews must follow specific guidelines designed to improve transparency, reproducibility, and minimize biases which traditional are susceptible. While synthesis methods, such as systematic maps, have been used in several research fields, the majority of published realm chemical engineering nonsystematic. In this study, we incorporated principles mapping conduct a literature review covering on sugar fatty acid esters (SFAE) with Candida antarctica lipase B (CALB). Our results showed that simple monosaccharides were most cited sugars among studies conducted. The direct use renewable raw materials frequently available resources produce alternative (SE) was scarcely reported our data set. We found free acids (FFA) commonly acyl donors amongst all publications, lauric, oleic, palmitic accounting for ∼43% occurrences. Tertiary alcohols (ter-butyl alcohol (T-but) 2-methyl-2-butanol (2M2B)) ionic liquids solvents synthesize SE. co-occurence analysis keywords involving solvent terms papers evaluated different reaction media (mostly form bisolvent system), also investigating impact their choice ester productivities.
