Abstract Background With the growing role of social media influencers (SMIs) in providing health advice, concerns arise regarding usefulness and reliability online information. This exploratory research focuses on expert content creators (HECCs), who offer a unique perspective due to their combined medical knowledge expertise. Methods We conducted semi-structured in-depth qualitative interviews with HECCs explore views SMI-driven communication, motivations for participating media, strategies they employ counteract misleading messages platforms. The study employed thematic text analysis identify key themes patterns. Results highlighted complex SMIs public health, acknowledging potential promote positive behaviors while also noting risks associated spread inaccurate or oversimplified messages. findings emphasize urgent need broaden communication address not only misinformation but overgeneralized messaging, which can be equally detrimental.
