Abstract Background Lifetime traumatic events are known to have a detrimental long-term impact on both mental and physical health. Yet, heterogeneity in the stress response regarding well-being adults is not well understood. This study investigates effects of cumulative trauma latent trajectories two indices well-being, subjective health life satisfaction large representative sample by means variable modelling techniques. Methods Data from pairfam wave 2–9, longitudinal survey was used ( N = 10,825). Individuals reported lifetime type exposure 7 indicated levels at each wave. Different types Variable Mixture Models were applied an iterative fashion. Conditional models investigated load. Results The best fitting model three for life, four health, respectively. Trauma load significantly predicted class membership: Higher associated with non-stable but followed complex patterns improving decreasing also explained variability within classes. Conclusions current expands evidence development perspective. Besides effect, it points functional adaptation after initial decline increased exposure. Thus, marked great heterogeneity. Future research should focus variables beyond that can further identify individuals prone declining well-being.

The findings to date indicate that adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) increase the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in later life. We demonstrate how network analysis, a statistical method estimates complex patterns associations between variables, can be used model ACEs and CVD. main goal is explore differential impacts ACE components on CVD outcomes, conditioned other important covariates using analysis. also sought determine which are most synergistically correlated subsequently cluster together affect risk. Our analysis was based cross-sectional data from 2020 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, included 31,242 adults aged 55 or older (54.6% women, 79.8% whites, mean age 68.7 ± 7.85 years). outcomes angina/coronary heart (CHD) stroke prevalence. Mixed graphical models were estimated R-package mgm, including all variables simultaneously elucidate their one-to-one inter-relationships. Next, we conducted Walktrap detection networks igraph. All analyses stratified by gender examine group differences. In for men, variable "household incarceration" strongly associated with stroke. For strongest connection "physical abuse" stroke, followed "sexual angina/CHD. angina/CHD clustered several factors, depressive disorder, diabetes, obesity, physical activity, smoking, further household dysfunction (household substance abuse, incarceration, parental separation/divorce). No clusters emerged women. Specific CVDs across may focal points targeted interventions. Additionally, clustering (especially men) provide researchers valuable information potential mechanisms linking health, plays critical role.

Objectives Associations among adverse childhood experiences prior to age 18 (ACEs), subjective reports of trauma during Hurricane Sandy, and trajectories depressive symptoms reported by community-dwelling older people were examined. Methods We analyzed 6 waves data from 5,688 aged 50–74 recruited in 2006 followed for 12-years using multilevel mixed effects models. Results found that: (1) who experienced ACEs had late life that higher than not having these experiences, (2) experiencing two or more likely report fear distress when Sandy hit either one no (3) while both ACE exposure peri-traumatic stress associated with levels symptoms, the risk (especially multiple ACEs) was greater. Conclusion Findings support course theories including cumulative inequality theory proliferation theory, suggesting inequalities are manifested over adversity at increased life. By studying relationship between response our findings demonstrate can alter way traumatic events adulthood experienced. This finding turn, has important implications clinical practice, as it identifies a group be adult trauma.

Adaptation theory explains that mothers’ subjective well-being (SWB) is determined by their abilities to adapt challenging life events using coping mechanisms. The literature highlights three latent mechanism factors: emotional regulation, mindfulness, and gratitude. This study aims build a model of SWB based on these factors. sample comprised 302 young mothers (20-25 years old) selected convenience sampling. Data were solicited from Likert scales measured emotion gratitude, analyzed structural equation modeling. results show the had adequate goodness fit, with chi-square 153.553 (p .05), GFI .934, AGFI .899, CFI .929, TLI .906, RMSEA .076. shows regulation mediated influenced SWB, gratitude as strong predictor SWB. As an implication in counseling, interventions should be applied practice.

Objectives Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are associated with higher risk of chronic disease, but little is known about the association late life cognitive decline. We examined longitudinal between ACEs and late-life decline in Study Healthy Aging African Americans (STAR). Design Linear mixed models random intercepts slope individual composite change adjusting for years from baseline (timescale), age, sex, parental education, socioeconomic status social support. Participants reported whether they had experienced nine types ACEs. Executive function verbal episodic memory were measured up to three times over a 3-year period using Spanish English Neuropsychological Assessment Scales. Settings Kaiser Permanente Northern California members living Bay Area. STAR cohort study ageing launched 2018 that has enrolled 764 black ages ≥50 (mean age=67.5; SD=8.5). Results Twenty-one per cent participants no ACEs, 24% one ACE, 20% two 17% four or more Compared (β=0.117; 95% CI 0.052 0.182), (β=0.075; 0.007 0.143) (β=0.089; 0.002 0.158) less executive function. There significant associations number memory. Conclusion In this older Americans, there was cognition memory; however, experiencing ≥ 2 These results may indicate who survived age 50+ have resilience warrants further investigation.

Abstract This study illuminates teachers’ lived experiences of working with traumatised children in school environments. Children who experience trauma display a range behaviours the classroom which impact on attainment and outcomes. Dealing childhood is challenging brings risks to mental health including secondary traumatic stress burnout. Interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) was employed understand teachers classroom. Findings from in-depth semi-structured interviews six indicate that increasingly support but there need for targeted trauma-informed training effective senior management wellbeing.

Associations between the fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) gene obesity are well-established. However, recent studies have linked FTO to addiction phenotypes dopaminergic signaling, thus suggesting broader psychiatric implications. We explored this assumption by conducting a phenome-wide association study across 4756 genome-wide studies, identifying 23-26 traits associated with at multiple-corrected significance level. These clustered into four categories: substance use, chronotype/sleep, well-being, neuroticism. To validate these findings, we analyzed functionally suggestive variant (rs1421085) in separate cohort, examining its impact on (i) alcohol use based Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT), (ii) subjective well-being WHO (Ten) Well-Being Index, (iii) neuroticism Schafer's Five Factor Model or Karolinska Scales of Personality. Our results confirmed direct rs1421085 that was independent age, sex, body index (BMI), childhood adversities. Interestingly, while no intake observed, both cross-sectional lagged longitudinal mediation analyses uncovered indirect relationships problematic (AUDIT-P), increased acting as intermediary.
