The authors aimed to explore the association between anthropometric indicators and cognitive function determine which aspects of are most closely related function. A sum 3269 older women were included in this study. Body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, hip calf waist-to-hip ratio obtained reflect indicators. Cognitive was assessed using Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Researchers revealed statistically significant differences total MMSE scores among low, medium, high groups BMI, circumference. also observed that circumference significantly associated with score. Our findings highlighted greater have a better level Calf is indicator Chinese women.

Handgrip strength (HGS) is a cost-effective indicator of skeletal muscle function. However, the sex-specific association between HGS and life satisfaction decline among older Chinese adults remains largely unknown. This observational, cross-sectional multicenter study included 3,649 (age range: 60-101 years) from nationally representative survey in China. Overall was determined using score (LSS). Correlations variables were examined Spearman's correlation analysis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves utilized to determine cutoffs for predicting LSS. Restricted cubic spline (RCS) analysis multivariate logistic regression employed investigate associations low 1,762 women 1,887 men (median age = 68.3 years). LSS observed 485 (13.3%) participants. positively correlated with both (both P < 0.05). Individuals associated higher rate (16.2% vs. 10.8%, 0.001). RCS demonstrated linear-like (P 0.001, nonlinear 0.099), but not 0.110, 0.329). ROC revealed that optimal cutoff indicating presence 27.5 kg 22.3 women. Multivariable showed participants had odds experiencing [odds ratios (OR) 1.509, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.218-1.867]. only (OR 1.871, CI 1.358-2.562, 0.001), while it attenuated 1.281, 0.964-1.701, 0.087). establishes identifying adults. Physical activity (PA) is crucial for the prevention and management of chronic diseases may be associated with cognitive impairment. This study investigated longitudinal relationship between PA from different parameters (e.g., frequency, duration, intensity, volume) incidence impairment in middle-aged older adults. Data were derived China Health Retirement Longitudinal Study (2011–2015). A total 891 adults aged 45 included this study. Cognitive function was assessed using Telephone Interview Status criteria, focused on episodic memory executive function. We categorized participants into normal cognition groups. Self-reported information including volume collected through a representative survey. Poisson regression analysis employed to explore over four years. Engaging moderate or light (MPA LPA) at least three days per week, vigorous (VPA) one two reduced Additionally, spending 30–119 min day 150 week more any intensity linked lower prevalence. Sensitivity analysis, excluding individuals neurological, mental, impairments, confirmed these findings. The findings highlight that VPA, MPA, LPA are Regular reduce risk

It is critical to age successfully for general health considering the aging of global population. Successful an important indicator assess whether older individuals are experiencing a healthy life and high-quality aging. This study aimed explore longitudinal relationship between frequency number participation in leisure activities maintenance successful included total 1,828 Chinese adults aged 60 years or older. The following six were gathered reflect activities: reading books newspapers, gardening work, playing mahjong cards, listening radio watching TV, raising pets domestic animals, engaging social activities. We evaluated using multidimensional model which includes five components: better self-reported health, good psychological status, high cognitive function, free disability, physical activity level. showed retention rate 58.4% during 4-year follow-up. Participants who frequently engaged had higher rates future (OR: 1.50, 95% CI: 1.04–2.22 1.89, 1.26–2.812) than those never participated these Compared with 0 activity, participants 3 1.78, 1.14–2.77) 4–6 1.65, 1.01–2.71) greater probability maintaining These findings suggest that more chance adults. Encouraging people participate variety may be effective way maintain over time.
