Background Despite a global decline in suicide rates, the USA has witnessed concerning rise mortality over past two decades. Aims This study aims to elucidate changing patterns of from 1999 2019, with particular focus on gender and racial differences. Method We utilised national data for causes (X60–X84, Y87.0) Centers Disease Control Prevention 1999–2019. The age–period–cohort analysis was conducted explore effects age, period birth cohort by race.
