Autobiographical memories are known to possess two features: they tied memory objects such as photos, diaries, or music, and serve three main functions: the self, social, directive function. The self-function uses for sense of self-continuity, social function bonds, future guidance. Although autobiographical these functions be allied with objects, research has yet merge features. Therefore, this study investigated tattoo event memories, designating life events that motivated tattooing hence perpetuated in form permanent embodied tattoos. We analyzed narratives 20 adults functions. Results indicate a similar extent previous research. Overall, our suggests broader view on by linking them objects.

What is human memory? Evidence from cognitive psychology and neuroscience supports the view that memory composed of multiple subsystems. The influential “modal model” late 1960s proposed a sensory register, short-term store, long-term store. In this case study, we present a discursive analysis of tattoos related to significant autobiographical events, examining their pictorial, interpretative, embodied and characteristics in remembering process. Tattoos are pictorial motifs culturally defined system, while tattooed persons as active agents endow them with personal meanings connected motives. This study presents the connection between motif choosing individual motives, well positions consequences. Our paper underscores that not only new or reinterpreted created practice, but also construct own positions, situated selves identity positioning Through these assigned both everyday conversations wider social-cultural discourses, more positive self-images, thus creating device for coping crisis situations.
