Vochysia divergens (Vochysiaceae), present in the flooded fields of Pantanal state Mato Grosso, Brazil, is traditionally used to treat infections. However, studies on toxicological safety using stem bark this vegetable are lacking. This study aimed investigate acute oral toxicity rats, genotoxicity utilizing mice, and non-vertebrate animals, insect Galleria mellonella nematode Caenorhabditis elegans following exposure V. ethanolic extract (VDSE). In addition, phytochemical analyses were performed HPLC-PDA, total triterpene content VDSE was determined. At 2000 mg/kg, did not induce toxicity. mice treated with different doses (500, 1000, or mg/kg), no chromosomal damages altered ratios polychromatic erythrocytes noted. also G. mellonela C. as evidenced by 100% survival. The contained a 780 mg g (39%). Since exerts beneficial role treating infections, it essential determine risks associated consuming these plant species establish safety. Consequently, results expand knowledge regarding chemical quality control
