Abstract Rasopathies, including Noonan Syndrome (NS) and Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), are developmental disorders caused by germline mutations in genes of the RAS/mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway (RAS-MAPK). This study investigates irritability, a highly prevalent transdiagnostic construct, children with Rasopathies impact Rasopathy status on associations between emotional dysregulation-related disorders, social skills impairments. The sample comprise 174 aged 4–17 (age mean = 9.49; 98 females), 113 (NS n 85, NF1 28) 61 age-sex-matched typically developed (TD) children. We used parent questionnaires (CBCL, SRS) to assess symptoms ADHD, defiance, anxiety/depression, impairments while controlling for cognitive measures (IQ). Children exhibited higher irritability than TD (mean difference 1.09; p < 0.001). NS showed weaker association ADHD compared (p .032, ηp2 .03) stronger both .033, .03), groups .009, .06). present novel clinically significant findings showing high Rasopathies. Our provides syndrome-specific results, suggesting differences mechanisms involved processes NF1. In essence, irritable profile associated impairments, significantly NS. results suggest that developing prevention treatments targeting can distinctly affect trajectories neurodevelopmental

Abstract Among youths, pathological irritability is highly prevalent and severely disabling. As a frequent symptom, it often leads to referrals child adolescent mental health services. Self-regulatory control (SRC) processes are set of socio-psycho-physiological that allow individuals adapt their ever-changing environments. This conceptual framework may enhance the current understanding cognitive, emotional, behavioural social dysregulations underlying irritability. The present systematic review (PROSPERO registration: #CRD42022370390) aims synthesize existing studies examine through lens SRC among youths (< 18 years age). We conducted comprehensive literature search six bibliographic databases: Embase.com, Medline ALL Ovid, APA PsycInfo Web Science Core Collection, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews Wiley ProQuest Dissertations & Theses A&I. Additional searches were performed using citation tracing strategies. retrieved reports totalled 2612, which we included 82 (i.e., articles) from 74 studies. More than 85% published during last 6 years, highlighting topicality this work. sampled n = 26,764 participants (n 12,384 girls 12,905 boys, 1475 no information) with an average age 8.08 (SD 5.26). suggest has association lower effortful control, cognitive delay intolerance. Further, evidence indicates both cross-sectional longitudinal associations between lack regulation skills for positive negative emotions, particularly anger. Physiological seems moderate psychopathology. Finally, mutual influence child’s parenting practice been established in several uses illustrate psychopathology, discusses important gaps literature, highlights new avenues further research.
