This meta-review synthesises evidence concerning individual-level psychosocial characteristics associated with alternative protein food (APF) choices. We investigated the associations between: (i) determinants based on COM-B model (capabilities, perceived opportunities, motivation), sociodemographic factors, and (ii) indicators of APF choices (e.g., intention to eat, buy, pay, acceptance, intake). Differences in made from plants, insects, mushrooms, other sources were explored. Thirteen databases searched this pre-registered (CRD42023388694) 28 reviews included. The risk bias was assessed using ROBIS tool. For plant-based choices, consistent support obtained for capabilities, including cooking skills, exposure to/familiarity APF; motivations, health-related, pro-environmental, sustainability benefits, animal welfare; (iii) younger age higher education. insect-based formal knowledge about APF, encompassing positive social cultural norms, distrust technology; health pro-environmental risks, being adventurous/daring, curiosity, neophilia, disgust; (iv) male gender age. Recognising differences potential across various is essential designing interventions aimed at promoting uptake.

Climate change poses a significant threat to human health, necessitating interdisciplinary approaches mitigate its effects. Health psychology, with focus on behavior and well-being, is uniquely positioned contribute climate action. This review examines how health psychology can address climate-related challenges, emphasizing psychological responses environmental stressors, modification strategies, public interventions. The findings indicate that functions as stressor, contributing anxiety, depression, eco-distress. Additionally, behavioral science insights are underutilized in governance, despite their potential drive sustainable actions. enhance adaptation by promoting pro-environmental behaviors, fostering resilience, integrating well-being into policy frameworks. However, barriers such limited collaboration insufficient emphasis systemic hinder progress. To maximize impact, psychologists must engage advocate for integration, both individual collective change. Future research should explore the intersection of mental develop comprehensive strategies tackling underscores urgent need play more active role shaping sustainable, health-promoting behaviors.

Research suggests that a large majority of young people in the UK experience worry and negative emotions about climate change, which affects their functioning daily life. University students may be particularly likely to anxiety if, for example, exposed distressing change content studies. In pre-registered online mixed-methods study, we investigated anxiety, change-related emotions, thoughts, views university’s role action among 869 at university. Results showed generally experienced moderate intensity across different situations. Students also reported high levels including sadness, helplessness, powerlessness, low optimism indifference. related such as “The future is frightening”. As role, many wanted more teaching mental health support impacts. On average, endorsed thought university was “Dismissing people’s distress” moderately, correlated significantly with students’ situationally assessed (r = .32, p < .01) general frequency .30, .01). These results demonstrate serious impact on health. They highlight importance universities recognising responsibilities protecting wellbeing.

Purpose European Union (EU) research projects generally involve international teams based in different countries. This means that researchers need to travel internationally participate for in-person meetings, which are crucial facilitating collaboration among and provide a platform share their progress. Unfortunately, much of the traveling EU is done by air therefore it has significant carbon footprint. One potential solution gained attention recent years virtual reality (VR) metaverse. The aim this work investigate what degree VR meetings viable alternative physical context can thus contribute climate change mitigation. Design/methodology/approach A three-stepped approach was chosen. First, requirements were determined collecting all relevant aspects through questionnaire. Second, set meeting experiments designed executed. Third, footprints both (lifecycle) calculated. Findings We conclude be powerful tool supplement mitigate emissions associated with an estimated 7–19 times. Originality/value paper explores suitability current generation technology quantitatively evaluates its effectiveness greenhouse gas mitigation project.

Both pathogens migration and climate change burden the global health thinkers. Therefore, there is a need to conceptualize relationship between pathogenic invaders. This opinion attempts provide an understanding on climate-pathogen by identification of common/specific drivers pathogen in context change. It highlights biochemical interactions dynamics over culture time.

Introduction Besides societal and governmental actions to mitigate greenhouse gases, individual behavioral changes are also urgently needed limit global temperature rise. However, these have proven be difficult achieve in the general population. Methods We conducted a systematic review five electronic databases with aim of systematically depicting content interventions that promote climate-friendly behavior individuals households high- upper-middle-income countries. Results included 25 studies. The analyses identification used Behavior Change Techniques (BCTs) comparison their promise ratio. Abstract Objectives The United Nations recognize the importance of balancing needs people and planetary systems on which human health relies. This paper investigates role that climate change has via its influence anxiety. Design We conducted an intensive longitudinal study. Methods Participants reported levels anxiety, generalized anxiety array behaviours at 20 consecutive time points, 2 weeks apart. Results A network analysis shows not to covary, higher covary with behaviours, except for alcohol consumption within‐participant level. Generalized showed completely distinct patterns covariation compared Conclusions Our findings imply as conceptualized measured in current study, is itself functionally impairing terms associations unhealthy from results also interventions induce about might always have significant impacts well‐being.
