Purpose This study examines the interaction between sales control systems and firm level strategic orientations their joint effects on company performance in B2B context. Independent of market orientation (MO), innovation (IO) (SCS) were analyzed. Design/methodology/approach A quantitative research methodology is adopted to compile firm-level primary data from manufacturing companies located an organized industrial zone. Research collected by face-to-face surveys 302 professionals. The model hypotheses tested using partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling (SEM) with Smart PLS 3.0. Findings In addition confirming positive MO IO performance, analyses revealed that SCS exert indirect effect which fully mediated MO. limitations/implications was limited a developing country context convenient sample cross-sectional study. Cross-cultural longitudinal studies may provide additional insights. Innovation is one of the main factors associated with industrial growth, as it contributes to increased productivity, sustainability, and international competitiveness. There a certain degree complexity in measuring innovation, since there are various metrics for this purpose, each sector economy handles differently. In Brazil, Industrial Survey Technological (PINTEC) was developed construct sectorial indicators on innovation activities. Based these data, paper investigates how ten sectors performed during two historical series (2011 2014 2017) considering five criteria linked process impact qualified human capital.
