Predicting ethical banking behavior among millennials and Gen-Z using theory of planned behaviors

Purpose
This
study
aims
to
examine
ethical
banking
behavior
among
millennials
and
Gen-Z
guided
by
the
theory
of
planned
(TPB).
Design/methodology/approach
Using
a
stratified
sampling
technique,
authors
collected
data
from
customers
Indian
banks
analyzed
using
partial
least
squares
structural
equation
modelling
(PLS-SEM).
Findings
found
that
attitude,
subjective
norms
perceived
behavioral
control
had
positive
significant
impact
on
intention.
It
was
also
discovered
intentions
shape
behavior.
Practical
implications
By
understanding
drivers
behavior,
can
tailor
their
marketing
strategies
resonate
with
Gen-Z,
thereby
boosting
engagement
loyalty.
Originality/value
provides
unique
contribution
two
demographic
cohorts
have
gained
importance
in
green
market
driven
values
ethics.
