Phytosterols (PSs) are widely present in plants, particularly abundant plant oils and seeds. PSs reported to have various biological activities, such as lowering cholesterol, alongside antioxidant antibacterial activities. This research examined the effects of finishing pigs, including growth performance, serum biochemistry, fecal bacteria. Two treatment groups (each group consisted five replicates, each replicate comprised pigs housed communally) were randomly assigned fifty (equally divided by sex) “Duroc × Landrace Yorkshire” three-way cross with 79.76 ± 1.29 (kg) body weight. The control (CON) was given basic food, while experimental food containing 300 mg PS/kg (PS). Dietary PS supplementation markedly raised levels average daily feed intake (ADFI) apparent digestibility dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), gross energy (GE) comparison CON (p < 0.05). Additionally, also significantly boosted concentrations high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), total (TP), catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), capacity (T-AOC), immunoglobulin G (IgG), motilin (MTL), glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) 0.05), lowered lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) level Both at phyla genus levels, relative abundance Firmicutes Streptococcus increased significantly, Acinetobacter decreased when adding phytosterols Overall, dietary promotes immunity boosts performance improving nutrient digestibility.
