Considering that previous literature has mainly focused on the impact of digital economy (DE) environmental degradation, ignoring role natural resources, this study uses two key factors (natural resource rent and anticorruption regulation) as threshold variables to reveal effect resources association between DE carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. In doing so, covers 97 countries, annual data 2003 2019, applies a panel model. The outcomes present influence CO2 emissions single-threshold (i.e., there is an inverted U-shaped link emissions) when variable. Specifically, significantly increases at low-to-medium level, but suppresses growth exceeds threshold. Moreover, drives overall regulation variable are double thresholds for its rise in initially exacerbates contribution then weakens it over time. Based results, proposes various implications, such formulating development strategy, considering DE, strengthening anti-corruption efforts field protection.

This study examines the dynamic relationships between digitalization, environmental tax revenues, and energy resource capacity within framework of Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC), focusing on their combined impact quality. It employs a cross-sectional augmented autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL) approach, an advanced technique for complex panel data that is specifically designed to address issues dependence slope heterogeneity inherent in analysis. The research covers 88 countries, including both low- middle-income countries (LMICs) high-income (HICs), understand how as driving force Fourth Industrial Revolution, interacts with taxation management affect greenhouse gas emissions. results reveal distinct effects taxes quality, marked differences LMICs HICs. In HICs, technological progress, especially information communication technology (ICT), found contribute significantly For LMICs, are less evident, findings suggest need tailored strategies policy management. By providing empirical evidence differential impacts digitalization policies different economic contexts, this enriches economics discourse. highlights frameworks specific contexts effectively balance growth sustainable development goals, thereby insightful implications achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Carbon emissions from human activities are the main cause of climate warming. Under background economic and social digital transformation, accurately assessing carbon emission reduction effect development economy is great significance for countries to deal with warming in post-COVID-19 era. This paper constructs a dynamic evaluation model orthogonal projection measure level at provincial China 2007 2019. On this basis, panel fixed effects mediation used empirically test impact on intensity its mechanism. The results indicate that: (1) China’s unbalanced among regions, showing geospatial pattern decreasing east west. (2) has trend year by year, there differences “high west low east” north south.” (3) can effectively reduce regional through industrial structure optimization resource allocation effect, suppress more obviously. (4) different regions degrees reducing intensity. eastern region stronger inhibitory than that middle western economically developed more. provides enlightenment policy makers

Abstract Achieving sustainable development targets requires major changes in the existing economic structure and a transition from pollution‐intensive energy system to clean one. The role of digital economy (DE) this regard has received much attention recent eras. However, there is little literature investigating relationship between DE presence technological innovation. This study's aim, grounded sustainability agenda, explore possible impact innovation on for BRICS nations 2003 2021. Using most Moments Quantile Regression method, results reveal that can contribute significantly achieving SDG‐7 by promoting transition. While does not influence Moreover, hindering countries. Several alternative estimation methods have been applied confirm robustness results. empirical conclude governments should build infrastructure encourage sector supporting energy‐related patents. detailed policy implications are presented study.

Abstract With the rapid development of digital economy, its environmental impact, particularly on carbon dioxide emissions in resource-based cities, has emerged as a vital research topic. Resource-based often central to traditional industries, are confronted with dual challenges pollution and economic transformation. This study employs empirical analysis examine influence economy these cities. The findings reveal that significantly reduces emissions, this impact being more pronounced early stages gradually diminishing thereafter. In mechanism analysis, we found can reduce cities by raising public concern about environment. Moreover, highlights significant variations reduction effects among different types noting stronger regulations further enhance effects. These insights not only provide new theoretical perspective but also offer practical guidance for policymakers promoting sustainable within economy.

Abstract Made in China 2025 (MIC 2025), an industrial policy, aims to position among the global leading manufacturing powers. Different from other policies China, MIC is implemented by policy experimentation of pilot cities, which gives priority local governments. However, whether cities promote firm innovation unclear current literature. Using as a quasi-natural experiment, this study analyzes effect and mechanism on innovation. The sample consists 4422 firm-year observations Chinese listed firms 2012–2022. result indicates that focal located facilitates its Mechanism analysis show promotes through tax incentives, public subsidies, convenient financing, academic collaboration talent incentives. This extends literature with regard how place-based implementation China’s policies. Local governments’ participations their interaction central government are vital for successful experimentation.
