Neuroimaging
has
revolutionized
our
understanding
of
brain
function
and
become
an
essential
tool
for
researchers
studying
neurological
disorders.
Functional
magnetic
resonance
imaging
(fMRI)
electroencephalography
(EEG)
are
two
widely
used
neuroimaging
techniques
to
review
changes
in
activity.
fMRI
is
a
noninvasive
technique
that
uses
fields
radio
waves
produce
detailed
images.
An
EEG
records
the
brain’s
electrical
activity
through
electrodes
placed
on
scalp.
This
overviews
recent
developments
functional
methods,
including
EEG.
Recent
advances
technology,
its
application
function,
impact
neuroscience
research
discussed.
Advances
technology
applications
analyzing
neural
oscillations
also
highlighted.
In
addition,
advanced
courses
neuroimaging,
such
as
diffusion
tensor
(DTI)
transcranial
stimulation
(TES),
described,
along
with
their
role
connectivity,
white
matter
tracts,
potential
treatments

Abstract
In
functionally
complex
systems,
higher
order
connectivity
is
often
revealed
in
the
underlying
geometry
of
networked
units.
Furthermore,
such
systems
show
signatures
self-organised
criticality,
a
specific
type
non-equilibrium
collective
behaviour
associated
with
an
attractor
internal
dynamics
long-range
correlations
and
scale
invariance,
which
ensures
robust
functioning
as
brain.
Here,
we
highlight
intertwining
features
critical
plausible
mechanism
for
emergence
new
properties
on
larger
scale,
representing
central
paradigm
physical
notion
complexity.
Considering
time-scale
structural
evolution
known
separation
i.e.,
external
driving,
distinguish
three
classes
geometries
that
can
shape
them
differently.
We
provide
overview
current
trends
study
phenomena,
synchronisation
phase
oscillators
discrete
spin
couplings
embedded
faces
simplicial
complexes.
For
representative
example
induced
by
structures,
present
more
detailed
analysis

A
neurobiological
framework

Large-scale meta-analyses and network analyses of neural substrates underlying human escalated aggression

Escalated
aggression
represents
a
frequent
and
severe
form
of
violence,
sometimes
manifesting
as
antisocial
behavior.
Driven
by
the
pressures
modern
life,
escalated
is
particular
concern
due
to
its
rising
prevalence
destructive
impact
on
both
individual
well-being
socioeconomic
stability.
However,
consistent
neural
circuitry
underpinning
it
remains
be
definitively
identified.
Here,
we
addressed
this
issue
comparing
brain
alterations
between
individuals
with
those
without
such
behavioral
manifestations.
We
first
conducted
meta-analysis
synthesize
previous
neuroimaging
studies
functional
structural
(325
experiments,
2997
foci,
16,529
subjects).
Following-up
network
decoding
analyses
were
provide
quantitative
characterizations
identified
regions.
Our
results
revealed
that
regions
constantly
involved
in
localized
subcortical
(amygdala
lateral
orbitofrontal
cortex)
associated
emotion
processing,
default
mode
(dorsal
medial
prefrontal
cortex
middle
temporal
gyrus)
mentalizing,
salience
(anterior
cingulate
anterior
insula)
cognitive
control.

findings
further
supported

meta-analyses
