The COVID-19 pandemic changed healthcare practices and social media played a significant role in those changes. While online practice communities allow collaboration engagement, education knowledge dissemination, research publication, promotion, the potential for improved clinical care, their use also involves perils pitfalls. literature suggests that rheumatologists innovative platforms both professional purposes. Similarly, many patients with rheumatic disease communication. This review outlined background of platforms, reasons use, associated risks. further discussed need to better understand benefits as well negative effects could impact rheumatology.
