BACKGROUND Teleconsultation has expanded rapidly in recent years, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and become standard practice among physicians. The benefits of teleconsultation, namely improving access to care, ensuring continuity quality increasing patient satisfaction, as well reducing costs wait times, are documented. However, its use nursing practice, long-term care settings, remains under-researched despite significant transformative potential, particularly resource-limited rural where it could address major challenges such shortages care. OBJECTIVE This study aimed identify barriers facilitators implementing overnight teleconsultation Quebec’s residential centers (“Centres d’hébergement et de soins longue durée”; CHSLDs) with ≤50 beds. METHODS A six-month pilot project was rolled out sequentially three CHSLDs two administrative regions Quebec between July 2022 March 2023. total 38 semi-structured interviews were conducted managers (27/38), staff members (9/38), resident committee presidents (2/38) February RESULTS results highlight several teleconsultation. Among main identified by union opposition, network instability, limited technology skills, a perceived increase workload for staff, low volume teleconsultations. participants also number facilitators, setting, on-call culture, buy-in from senior management managers, support leaders site managers. Collaboration Nursing Department (ND) Support Autonomy Seniors (SASD), transfer knowledge experience, motivation, development roles improved professional practices engines success. Finally, relative enhanced mutual vision, faster assessment clinical situations, management, greater flexibility safety, played role acceptability potential CONCLUSIONS provides an in-depth understanding small CHSLDs. constitutes sound basis developing tailored strategies at overcoming optimizing facilitators. provide practical guidelines decision-makers, highlighting need adapt implementation approaches unique context each facility. Furthermore, highlights importance further research broaden our on dissemination scale-up healthcare innovations. includes learning health systems capable responding agile effective way needs vulnerable populations, both elsewhere.

Purpose As the new frontier in online healthcare innovation, mobile health consultation (MHC) is transforming how traditional delivered. Despite being known on a large scale for its benefits, MHC still faces consumer resistance. technology-enabled service, so an in-depth analysis of resistance from perspective technology crucial to enhance service adoption. This study sought determine mechanism by which two information (IT)-specific traits – IT affordance and identity influence during consumer–platform interactions. Design/methodology/approach We used Credamo platform gather data 786 users with medical consulting experience validate resulting relationships. Findings Based partial least squares structural equation modeling, three six affordances (visibility, searching guidance shopping) exerted significant positive identity, while trigger attending association had no effect identity. Persistence was negatively associated influenced MHC. Originality/value Academically, this empirical paper primarily contributes literature theory Practically, several valuable platforms provided.
