Despite the growing literature on racial-ethnic disparities during pandemic, less is known about explanatory mechanisms of these and inequalities across other axes, such as gender sexual identities. We studied levels sources racial-ethnic, identity, minority in social (i.e., unmet resource needs) health hospitalization) outcomes among individuals diagnosed with COVID-19, hypothesizing differential age structure, underlying health, work living arrangements contributors to inequalities. Using large-scale administrative data from Chicago adjusting for covariates, we found substantial identity both outcomes, weak evidence needs. Subsequent decomposition analyses revealed that larger households, having a higher share non-adult cases, facing burdens chronic illness, obesity, unemployment each statistically significantly drove needs, but together explained than 15% disparities. Similarly, 20% Black-White gap hospitalization resulted unemployment, whereas proportion cases or rates respectively proved only significant pathways partially explain transgender individuals' disadvantages needs (12%) (6%). These findings highlight importance considering multiple dimensions differences studying disparities, vulnerabilities communities valid yet quite limited roles previously suggested sociodemographic factors accounting COVID-19-related categorical

In present study, we sought (a) identity distinctive profiles COVID-related lifestyle disruptions experienced by YYA, (b) investigate sociodemographic characteristics correlates profile membership, (c) examine extent which membership was prospectively associated with changes in depressive anxiety symptoms. Hypothesis tested using latent analysis data from 1055 YYA collected across two time-points, 6-months apart. Results produced three-class model: low- (11%), moderate- (61%), high-levels (28%) disruption. Members high levels disruption group more likely identify as Black or Latinx American, bisexual/pansexual, transgender gender diverse comparison low group. Inclusion increases symptoms T1 T2. multiple marginalize communities (i. e. those who identified both racial/ethnic sexual/gender minorities) greatest related COVID-19.
