Entrepreneurial leadership (EL) to date has not been differentiated from other contingency theories of leadership. We offer a conceptual model EL explain the motivational dynamics that enable collaborative action between leader and follower recognize pursue entrepreneurial opportunity. Drawing on self-determination theory (Deci & Ryan, 2002a; Ryan Deci, 2017), we propose is demonstrated when leader, enabled by emotional social competence an mindset, develops relationship with followers satisfies three inherent human needs in (i.e., autonomy, relatedness, competence), thereby intrinsically motivating act entrepreneurially. With our EL, seek establish new frontiers for scholars advance research EL. Further, believe can serve as guide support development oneself others.

ABSTRACT The exploration of opportunities is a major precondition for idea generation. Despite its relevance, theoretical approaches to innovation have paid scant attention conceptualization, measurement, antecedents and outcomes. To fill this void, paper adopts behavioural approach delve into the micro‐foundations early stage process by introducing operationalizing construct individual exploratory behaviours (IEBs), which are actions undertaken individuals boost generation through opportunity search. After reviewing earlier research on ideation process, we propose validate IEBs as an original multidimensional encompassing three components ( questioning status quo , sensing environment experimenting ). Results from structural equation modelling corroborate IEBs' positive relationship with radical outcomes risk‐taking self‐confidence antecedents. Our adds literature focusing critical role beginning analysing different according perspective, aspect that has been neglected in favour cognitive/psychological dimension. In so doing, provides formalization unstructured preliminary evidence between organizational innovative performance. findings offer insights both educational settings can adopt their assessment development processes individuals' ability promote at level.
