The
power
of
stories
shared
by
young
people
in
foster
care
is
well-documented.
Largely
left
unexplored
a
story
that
told
within
fuller
context
the
life
course.
Using
narrative
and
history
methods,
this
study
sought
to
retrospectively
identify
connect
experiences
histories
explore
how
systems
are
portrayed.
Twelve
adults
formerly
completed
three
interviews
each
nominated
six
professionals
from
for
an
interview.
A
three-phase
analytical
process
identified
displayed
themes
across
developmental
stages.
Results
suggest
contained
adversities
were:
(1)
intergenerational,
(2)
chronic,
(3)
complex,
(4)
structural.
participants
intentionally
acted
try
mitigate
accessing
opportunities
prosocial
pathways.
These
exploratory
findings
challenge
child
welfare
policy
practice
attend
people’s
their
conceptions
advance
well-being.

compassion
satisfaction,
few
studies
have
investigated
how
these
outcomes
influence
utilization
of
casework
skills.
