Social support is a key predictor of well-being, but not everyone experiences mental health benefits from receiving it. However, given that growing number interventions are based on social support, it crucial to identify the features make individuals more likely benefit ties. Emerging evidence suggests neural responses positive feedback (i.e., reward) might relate individual differences in functioning, potential mechanisms linking these psychological outcomes yet unclear. This study examined whether correlates reward processing, indexed by positivity (RewP), individuals' affective experience following self-reported real-world events. To this aim, 193 university students (71% females) underwent an EEG assessment during Island Getaway task and completed 10-day ecological momentary where participants reported their negative affects (PA, NA) nine times day count daily Experiencing higher events was associated with PA. The RewP moderated association, such greater response at baseline had stronger association between Individual be one indicator likelihood experiencing affect when support.
