Abstract Drawing on the experiences of thirty-two refugee mothers who fled Ukraine with their children to Germany—to Berlin and Frankfurt/Oder—this article traces co-constitutive relationship displacement motherhood through angle temporality. First, it uncovers how in is defined by mothers’ urge urgency protect children. Second, shows utilize different forms ‘active waiting’ rebuild lives search stability for themselves affectively deal trauma multiple losses. Last but not least, generates new maternal subjectivity as interlocutors ‘spend time’ patch ruptures sake children, only alone also together other digital means. Negotiating thus provides room productively navigate a temporal disorientation caused displacement.
