Abstract
This
paper
evaluates
recent
work
purporting
to
show
that
the
“agency”
of
organisms
is
an
important
phenomenon
for
evolutionary
biology
study.
Biological
agency
understood
as
capacity
goal-directed,
self-determining
activity—a

in
all
irrespective
their
complexity
and
whether

they
have
a
nervous
system.

on
