Purpose The article aims to explore how the military police in Brazil’s Northern Region incorporate “difference” and “diversity” into leadership, focusing on women leadership roles. It examines institutional changes styles development of inclusive practices. goal is understand competencies bring these can transform organizational culture. Design/methodology/approach study employed in-depth interviews with 20 women’s leaders Pará, using MAXQDA for data analysis criteria sampling participant selection achieve saturation. Findings results indicate that Military Police Pará fosters a new culture, emphasizing shared transformational leadership. Women’s are seen as adaptable resilient, capable balancing professional performance emotional management. Traits such empathy sensitivity prominent, creating more humanized work environment. Additionally, creativity charisma facilitate innovative solutions complex problems, demonstrating transformative impact within police. Research limitations/implications study’s limitations include its focus specific region small sample size, reliance self-reported data, which may introduce bias, findings deeply embedded local cultural contexto Practical implications practical this encouraging formal networks mentorship opportunities, particularly those led by women. These initiatives aim promote gender equity force preventing from being disadvantaged competitive processes exams evaluations, thereby eliminating implicit biases. Transgender individuals continue to be the victims of rampant discrimination in United States across professions and communities. Discrimination against transgender by police officers may result avoiding interactions with law enforcement. With a surge non-biased policing training initiatives aimed at identifying eliminating biases among officers, laws prohibiting enforcement this study explores individuals’ perceptions experiences Using logistic regression, we find that respondents do not feel comfortable going police, many instances abuse police. Based on these findings, make recommendations how can support community which is currently under attack.

Í stefnumótun stjórnvalda á sviði kynjajafnréttismála lögreglu er lögð áhersla að fjölga konum meðal lögreglumanna og í áhrifa- stjórnunarstöðum lögreglumanna. Til ná settum markmiðum hefur sjónum verið beint fjölgun kvenna lögreglunema en lítt hugað brotthvarfi neikvæðum þáttum karllægri vinnumenningar lögreglunnar. Markmið rannsóknarinnar skoða hvernig stjórnvöldum miðar því greina möguleg áhrif kynbundinnar áreitni þessi markmið, slík fengið litla athygli rannsóknum. Rannsóknin byggir tölulegum gögnum frá lögreglunni spurningalistakönnun sem var fyrir allt starfsfólk árið 2022. Niðurstöðurnar sýna þrátt hafi fjölgað síðastliðin ár þá ekki líkt miðað að. Auk þess óvíst hvort markmiðið um náist, kynjabilið aukist lögreglunáminu vísbendingar eru óeðlilegt brotthvarf kvenna. Stór hluti verður kynbundinni starfi sínu oftast af hendi karlkyns samstarfsmanna yfirmanna. Purpose This paper provides a discussion of evidence supporting strategic, targeted recruitment for increasing minority representation in police agencies the context negative reputations inclusion. Design/methodology/approach Database searching along with backward and forward citation chaining identified 145 articles review. After extracting strategies mentioned that had empirical support effectiveness, framework was developed categorizing those strategies. Findings Police use some evidence-based practices (e.g. community engagement) but could do more to enhance diversity. Strategy applicability limited organizational diversity or less positive reputation as an inclusive employer is discussed. Practical implications review clear set recommended best evaluating enhancing their efforts at recruiting.
