Adverse donor reaction (ADR) could adversely impact the recruitment and retention of blood donors, but evidence effect sleep quality on ADR is limited controversial. The goal this study was to explore association between among college students in Wuhan. The student donors Wuhan from March May 2022 were recruited. Self-compiled general information questionnaire Pittsburgh index (PSQI) investigated by convenience sampling. Univariable multivariable logistic regression analyses used estimate association.Among 1014 participants included study, 63 group 951 non-ADR group. Compared with group, PSQI scores higher (3.44 ± 1.81 vs. 2.78 1.82, p < 0.01). results analysis showed that after adjusting gender, body mass index, donation history other potential confounding factors, related occurrence ADRs (odds ratio = 1.231, 95% confidence interval 1.075-1.405), is, worse quality, more likely will occur. The long-term poor a risk factor for ADRs. It should be identified early before reduce incidence improve safety satisfaction donors.

In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationships between sleep duration and autonomic nervous system (ANS) regulation. This cross-sectional pilot study included 27 older patients with probable Alzheimer’s disease who were hospitalized at a psychiatric center. We measured heart rate variability assess ANS regulation night, evaluated dementia severity via Clinical Dementia Rating scale, obtained data from diaries maintained by nurses. The analyzed using repeated-measures generalized linear models age, sex, severity, hypertension status, medication use (antipsychotics) as covariates. A of 6–9 h per night compared shorter than 6 was associated greater increase in parasympathetic activity (p = 0.03), longer 9 decrease sympathovagal balance 0.02). addition, observed an inverted U-shaped association demonstrated that may be beneficial for regulation; however, present involved only few participants had some limitations. Additional research larger cohort is needed confirm these findings.

The aim of our systematic review and meta-analysis was to determine if circadian rhythm disruption (CRD) is associated with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Our objective pool the overall mean differences in biomarkers CRD (including melatonin levels, morning evening cortisol sleep efficiency) between PCOS patients controls. We hypothesized that will be more prominent PCOS. A search PubMed, Scopus, Embase, ClinicalTrials.Gov, Cochrane Database Systematic Reviews conducted from inception until 2024 using following MeSH terms "circadian rhythm" OR "sleep disturbance" "melatonin" AND "polycystic syndrome." Citation supplemented database search. Inclusion criteria were women PCOS, original case-control, cross-sectional, cohort studies identify parameters (melatonin, cortisol, disturbance). Exclusion endocrine metabolic co-morbidities, menopausal women, case reports, studies, animal abstracts, conference presentations. There no time restriction for year publication. Two investigators (T.H. P.R.) assessed quality included Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Forest plots created Open Meta Analyst software. Publication bias Egger's Begg's tests. total 16 12 (N=1,100 [531 569 controls]). Pooled analysis showed difference levels controls 14.294 pg/mL, 95% CI [6.895, 21.693]. 1.103 [-1.058, 3.265], 3.574 [1.741, 5.407], respectively. efficiency scores -4.059, [-6.752, -1.366]. Risk assessment NOS ranged 7 9. provides evidence positively syndrome. This substantiated by indicative disruption, including efficiency.
