Abstract The context of retirement has changed over the last decades, but there is little knowledge on whether quality adjustment as well. Changes in regulations and historical differences resources may affect increase inequalities between different socioeconomic groups. In present study, we investigated by comparing cross-sectional samples retirees from 1996, 2002, 2008, 2014, based population-based German Ageing Survey. Adjustment was measured with three indicators (perceived change life after retirement, satisfaction, difficulties). Retirement satisfaction higher later samples, for other two outcomes, no evidence systematic increases or decreases levels time studied period. White-collar workers reported better than blue-collar did, this effect stable time. white-collar workers’ advantage concerning however, increased. We conclude that Germany, at least those who retire within usual window, not systematically examined 18-year only found mixed a growing social inequality adjustment. However, individual agency choosing one’s timing pathway increasingly restricted, well-being before increase.

Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness positively related to higher support. Neuroticism was negatively associated with lower self-esteem negative autonomy support. Our findings suggest retirees are more vulnerable transition process they also likely experience problems resulting key resources.

In order better understand concept age, we compare series measures assessed on basis survey register data. We use data from Sweden, where flexible schemes are implemented available. link Swedish Level Living Survey with Longitudinal Integration Database Health Insurance Labour Market Studies. create four based these datasets, applying approaches that have been used previous literature. analyse means distributions evaluate correlations between them. Finally, regress common predictors such as gender or education examine potential differences size, direction statistical significance associations. find measure resembles following two ways defining data: first, at which people receive more than half their income old-age disability pension and, second, they were not gainfully employed least 2 years. This insight gives us understanding when transition process, individuals identify retirement. Moreover, it provides decision support working determine use.

In consensual qualitative research using abductive reasoning aged 66–69, we find four resource types. Furthermore, that unlike Switzerland, short-time across improved Germany. Discussion Our findings imply trajectories last 20 years. The took place during first quarter 2020.Active people performed better that assessed attention, memory, solving abilities also more satisfaction with current work. Multiple linear regressions analyses revealed associated lower performance. Mentally demanding jobs significantly memory performance, but not attention planning. An involuntary separation from beginning adulthood may cause deeper decline functions, poorer adaptive adjustment aging process, higher dissatisfaction period individual is going through.

Thus, we used bivariate dual latent change score modeling to test within-person change-to-future relations between LS and cognition. Method Community adults completed in-person tests of verbal working memory (WM), processing speed, spatial cognition, an self-report. Five waves assessment occurred across 23 years. Abstract Retirement from work is a major life event requiring adaptation to new circumstances. The resource-based dynamic model of retirement adjustment suggests that well-being will change due changes in individual resources. In the present study, we test this hypothesis by investigating longitudinal and bidirectional associations between satisfaction perceived resources (i.e., self-esteem, autonomy, social support, self-rated physical health, cognitive ability, financial satisfaction) over 4-year period transition retirement. Our sample included annual assessment data 497 older adults (aged 60–66) population-based HEalth, Ageing, Transitions Sweden (HEARTS) study. Results bivariate latent score models showed weak but consistent transition. Analyses cross-lagged effects also revealed associations. Self-esteem, total resource capability were positively related satisfaction, was ability. accounted for 12% first years following Life 16% autonomy findings demonstrate are important transition, at same time as overall accounts how perceive evaluate our own during process.
