Objective: To examine the association between participation and satisfaction with life at 1, 2, 5, 10 years after traumatic brain injury (TBI) in older adults. Setting: Community. Participants: Participants ( N = 2362) who sustained complicated mild to severe TBI, requiring inpatient rehabilitation, age 60 or had follow-up data on for least 1 time point across years. Age each period was categorized as 64 years, 65 75 older. Design: Secondary analysis of a large multicenter database. Main Measures: Three domains (Productivity, Social Relations, Out About) Participation Assessment With Recombined Tools-Objective (PART-O); Satisfaction Life Scale (SWLS). Results: SWLS increased over TBI significantly associated greater frequency all domains. There significant interaction PART-O Relations such that there weaker relationship oldest group (75 older). no Productivity About age, but both these groups. Conclusions: These findings indicate is adults, first postinjury, suggesting rehabilitation should target improving even The decreased social relations suggests may not be important quality still important.
