Alcohol-associated
liver
disease
poses
a
significant
global
health
burden,
with
rising
alcohol
consumption
and
prevalence
of
use
disorder
(AUD)
contributing
to
increased
morbidity
mortality.
This
review
examines
the
challenges
opportunities
in
care
candidates
recipients
transplant
(LT)
AUD.
Despite
advancements
posttransplant
patient
survival,
risk
recurrence
relapse
remains
substantial.
Several
have
been
identified,
including
(1)
burden
alcohol-associated
disease,
variable
practices,
systemic
barriers;
(2)
disparities
mental
therapy
access
impact
on
transplant;
(3)
definitions,
underdiagnosis,
stigma
affecting
care;
(4)
post-LT
relapse,
its
factors,
consequential
harm.

AUD
for
LT
through
effective
biochemical
monitoring,
behavioral
pharmacologic
approaches,

Excellence

policy
reforms,

The
Sustained
Alcohol
use
post-Liver
Transplant
(SALT)
and
the
High-Risk
Relapse
(HRAR)
scores
were
developed
to
predict
a
return
alcohol
after
liver
transplant
(LT)
for
alcohol-associated
disease.

retrospective
analysis

deceased
donor
LT
from
October
2018

2022
