Over the past few years, there has been a gradual increase in incidence of cancer, affecting individuals at younger ages. With its refractory nature and substantial fatality rate, cancer presents notable peril to human existence wellbeing. Hawthorn, medicinal food homology plant belonging Crataegus genus Rosaceae family, holds great value various applications. Due long history use, effects, high safety profile, hawthorn garnered considerable attention plays crucial role treatment. Through integration modern network pharmacology technology traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), range anticancer active ingredients have predicted, identified, analyzed. Studies shown that such as vitexin, isoorientin, ursolic acid, maslinic along with extracts, can effectively modulate cancer-related signaling pathways manifest properties via diverse mechanisms. This review employs excavate potential hawthorn. By systematically integrating literature across databases PubMed CNKI, explores bioactive underlying mechanisms pathways, synergistic effects drug combinations, advancements novel delivery systems, ongoing clinical trials concerning hawthorn’s properties.
