The
perception
that
the
nucleoli
are
merely
organelles
where
ribosome
biogenesis
occurs
is
challenged.
Only
around
30
%
of
nucleolar
proteins
solely
involved
in
producing
ribosomes.
Instead,
nucleolus
plays
a
critical
role
controlling
protein
trafficking
during
stress
and,
according
to
its
dynamic
nature,
undergoes
continuous
exchange
with
nucleoplasm
under
various
cellular
stressors.
Hence,
concept
has
evolved
as
insults
disrupt
structure
and
function
nucleolus.
Considering
emerging
this
organelle
DNA
repair

most
fragile
genomic
loci,
therapies
targeting
increasingly
being
developed.
Besides,
