Abstract
Hunger
increases
the
motivation
for
calorie
consumption,
often
at
expense
of
low‐taste
appeal.
However,
neural
mechanisms
integrating
calorie‐sensing
with
increased
consumption
remain
unknown.
Agouti‐related
peptide
(AgRP)
neurons
in
arcuate
nucleus
hypothalamus
sense
hunger,
and
ingestion
caloric
solutions
promotes
dopamine
release
absence
sweet
taste
perception.
Therefore,
we
hypothesised
that
metabolic‐sensing
hunger
by
AgRP
would
be
essential
