Abstract
The
predictive
processing
framework
includes
a
broad
set
of
ideas,
which
might
be
articulated
and
developed
in
variety
ways,
concerning
how
the
brain
may
leverage
models
when
implementing
perception,
cognition,
decision‐making,
motor
control.
This
article
provides
an
up‐to‐date
introduction
to
two
most
influential
theories
within
this
framework:

Abstract
Objective
Bulimia
nervosa
(BN)
is
associated
with
loss-of-control
(LOC)
eating
episodes
that
frequently
occur
in
response
to
negative
emotions.
According
recent
neurocomputational
models,
this
link
could
be
explained
by
a
failure
accurately
update
beliefs
about
the
body
states
of
high
arousal.
Specifically,
these
interoceptive
inference
models
suggest
under-relying
on
signals
from
one’s
sensory
experience
(“low
precision”)
and/or
over-relying
previously
held
(“excessively
precise
priors”)
lead
inaccurate
perception
and
maladaptive
behaviors.
We
conducted
an
initial
test
core
predictions
model
BN
using
self-report
measures.

Updating Prospective, Self-Efficacy Beliefs About Cardiac Interoception in Anorexia Nervosa: An Experimental and Computational Study

Patients
with
anorexia
nervosa
(AN)
typically
hold
aberrant
beliefs
about
their
body
that
they
struggle
to
update,
including
global,
prospective
ability
know
and
regulate
particularly
interoceptive
states.
While
clinical,
questionnaire
studies
have
provided
ample
evidence
on
the
role
of
such
in
onset,
maintenance,
treatment
AN,
psychophysical
focused
perceptual
‘local’
beliefs.
Across
two
experiments,
we
examined
how
women
AN
(N=86)
weight-restored
from
(AN-WR,
N=87),
comparison
matched
healthy
controls
(HCs,
N=180)
updated
self-efficacy
count
own
heartbeats
an
adapted
heartbeat
counting
task
(HCT).
As
preregistered,
found
while
patients
do
not
differ
accuracy
per
se,
maintain
‘pessimistic’
interoceptive,
metacognitive
after
performance.
Modelling
using
a
simplified,
computational
Bayesian
learning
framework
showed
neither
local
performance,
nor
retrospective
following
performance
(that
themselves
were
suboptimally
updated)
seem
be
sufficient
counter
update
pessimistic,
AN.
lower
rates
than
controls,
revealing
tendency
base
posterior
more
prior
rather
prediction
errors
both
belief
updating.
Further
explorations

differences

beliefs,
